Originally from Brazil, Andrea Dematte relocated to Massachussets after receiving a degree in architecture from the University in Brazil. She attended the Hallmark Institute of Photography and made the transition to photography. Since then, Andrea worked in NYC for 8 years. Her work is based on a love for highly graphic angles and lines, resulting in conceptual beauty and fashion images. Andrea spent part of 2015 living and studying in London. She has always been attracted to the London art scene, specially in it's tie to portraiture, a reference she always goes back to find inspiration for her work.Because her work is so focused on the face and body, she found inspiration in every museum and gallery that she went to in London. Mainly the National Portrait Gallery and the Tate Modern. Being able to see up close how the face has been portrayed throughout history has and through the modern times has given her and edge on how to create powerful images of people. During her time there, she studied Contemporary Art at the UAL, putting her craft in a bigger perspective. She also studied film at the MET school, to understand the moving image and to keep up with an evolving craft.

Natural do Brasil, Andrea Dematte mudou-se para Massachussets após se formar em arquitetura pela Universidade do Brasil. Ela frequentou o Hallmark Institute of Photography e fez a transição para a fotografia. Desde então, Andrea trabalhou em NYC por 8 anos. Seu trabalho é baseado no amor por ângulos e linhas altamente gráficos, resultando em beleza conceitual e imagens de moda. Andrea passou parte de 2015 morando e estudando em Londres. Sempre se sentiu atraída pela cena artística londrina, principalmente por sua ligação com o retrato, referência que sempre volta em busca de inspiração para seus trabalhos. Como seu trabalho é tão focado no rosto e no corpo, ela encontrou inspiração em todos os museus e galerias que visitou em Londres. Principalmente a National Portrait Gallery e a Tate Modern. Ser capaz de ver de perto como o rosto foi retratado ao longo da história e através dos tempos modernos deu a ela uma vantagem sobre como criar imagens poderosas de pessoas. Durante sua estada lá, ela estudou Arte Contemporânea na UAL, colocando seu ofício em uma perspectiva mais ampla. Ela também estudou cinema na escola MET, para entender a imagem em movimento e acompanhar uma arte em evolução.
